SCHOOLS IN THE BAY AREA
Several of the Peninsula's communities have excellent public schools. There are books and websites quiet available to give you individual information about the schools. In addition there are many private schools either through a church or otherweise. Parent's Guide to School Selection and McCormacks Guides are two popular source when it comes to detailed information about all schools in the San Francisco Bay Area.
GISSV - German International School of Silicon Valley German school - accredited by the German Government - multi-cultural and bilingual, German and English, education from preschool/kindergarten to grade 12, appr. 170 students / located in Mountain View
ISP - International School of the Peninsula independent school, multi-cultural and bilingual, French and Mandarin Chinese, appr. 70 students
Castilleja School All-girls school in Palo Alto. appr. 415 students, grades 6 to 12
Harker School private school with separated lower, middle and upper school, located in San Jose
Nueva School (private school from Pre-K to grade 8, located in Hillsborough)
Peninsula School private school, from Pre-K to grade 12, located in Menlo Park
Woodside Priory School Benedictine, Catholic school offering a boys boarding program (gr 9-12) within a coed day school (gr 6-12). located 40 miles south of San Francisco
Waldorf School of the Peninsula a Rudolf Steiner school with nursery, kindergarten, elementary and middle school, located in Los Altos
Pinewood School private school with elementary and middle school located in Los Altos, and upper school located in Los Altos Hills
Deutsche Schule Menlo Park (independent school, multi-cultural and bilingual, German and English, to grade 8)
YCIS - Yew Chung International School (multi-cultural and bilingual, English and Mandarin Chinese, education to children from preschool to 5th grade)
